A very limited edition print made with cochineal ink.
Every dollar from the sale of these posters will go to fund the projects of The Maiwa Foundation. These projects assist artisans and craftspeople in maintaining traditions and elevating their craft.
Hand printed by master print maker and paper maker Edward Fu-Chen Juan. Ed works out of Malaspina on Granville Island and specializes in natural dye inks.
"A World of Natural Dyes" design is a collaboration between Maiwa and Edinburgh based printmaker Alexandra Snowdon. Based on our suggestions of dye plants, Alexandra composed an image, designed the lettering, and executed the composition as a linocut. This linocut was then converted into a silkscreen for this print.
Each poster is stamped on the back by the artists.
